Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2009 to all.
We spent the Holiday pretty much with my family, which is always wonderful. Jason had to work a half-day on Christmas Eve but that was alright because my mom did too. We went to my parents house on Wednesday afternoon and opened gifts up. After that we went to my Grandpa's and had supper and the kids got even more gifts. We bummed around on Christmas day. Friday the girls did some Post Christmas shopping. It was lots of fun and Brooklyn was really good for us. Jason and I went on a date Friday night for a much needed break. Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the babies. We bummed around some more on Saturday. We headed home about six on Saturday. We still had to have our little Family Christmas so the kids got even more gifts. We had a very nice Christmas, hopefully we didn't wear out our welcome by staying so long.
The kids got lots of toys.
Hailee got every toy she wanted from Gramma and Papa, she was very excited but grateful. We really worked on her realizing how lucky she is to have people like Gramma and Papa around to spoil her because not everyone does. We relly worked on her appreciating what she has. It must have worked because after opening every gift she thanked Gramma and Papa and told them they were the best Gramma and Papa ever. I am the leader of Hailee's girl scout troop and we have some disadvantaged girls in my troop and ever since girl scouts started Hailee has appreciated what she has and really has realized how fortunate she is. We are doing a Toy Drive for Blue Valley with our troop. We were cleaning out Hailee's toys and she was so generous and acknowledged that there are kids who have no toys but because she is giving her toys away somebody will have a toy now. She made me so proud.
Carter was so excited because he got three new pairs of shoes, he loves shoes. He also got a guipar and lots of other things. Carter will play and play with one thing forever. He is in love with aunt Cassie (my brother's wife) so every time he knows he will see her he wants to dress up and do his hair. Jason was getting him ready on Wednesday to go to my mom and dad's and Jason was doing his hair and he asked " Cassie gonna like dis?" It was so funny. He has always just adored her definately one of his favorite people. She has always made him feel special.
Jason and I got a Wii from the World's Greatest parents. We didn't even know what to say, it was totally unexpected. We were both in tears. My parents are some of the world's most thoughtful and wonderful people and they make my family's world go round. We have had lots of fun with the Wii and have been able to spend some time together having fun. Hailee has also had fun playing it.
