Saturday, Glorious Saturday!!!!!!!!
Its been a really long week, I'm not sure why though. Brooklyn and Hailee have both been sick since Thursday and they have been some long days and nights. We are not used to sick kids, my kids are never sick so it throws us for a loop. I tend to think that they have immunities of steel because of how long I nursed them and those wonderful antibodies nursing provides. Brooklyn is actually just teething so she's not really sick persay but she has a fever and is really grumpy. I really jinxed myself this week. On Monday I went to a ZagBag party; if you are wondering what that is it's a purse party where you design your own bag, you pick the style of bag and then 4 or 5 fabrics for the purse, they are about $60-$100 per purse but it's alot of fun and I only buy one a few times a year. Back to my story, the party was at my friend Tina's house and her little girl Aleyah is one of Hailee's best friends and so I said that I would bring the girls with me when to the party. Tina called a couple hours befor hand and said that Aleyah was sick earlier but is feeling fine now so I said that I didn't mind because my kids don't get sick. This was on Monday, on Thursday around noon I get a call from school saying that Hailee had a 102.5 fever so I needed to go get her. We gave her some Tylenol and her fever broke and she was up and antagonizing Carter for awhile then the fever would come back and she would hit a brick wall and take a nap. At supper time she couldn't even keep her head up so we put her in her bed expecting her to take a little nap; she slept until 7:00 the next morning. She has been really bummed about being sick becasue she has missed out on two soccer games, her "end of the year party" at school, and a trip to Travis and Cassie's. We were planning to go up to Norfolk and visit with them so the kids could play together and have a nice big dinner but Hailee still had a fever of around 100 even and Brooklyn was crabby so we decided to stay home. Everyone was kind of bummed but plans change and things happen when you have 5 people in a family to consider but life goes on and we will reschedule.

"Helping Hands"

Carter was "helping" me make brownies
as you can see he licked the mess clean

My Girls

Hailee is such an adoring big sister, she is so good to Brooklyn
My favorite girls in my favorite color

Carter's Tie

For Brooklyn's Baptism and Easter my mom bought Carter this 4-piece dress outfit complete with a clip-on tie and for the next three weeks after he clipped it on to the shirt he was wearing. He is such a unique kid.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everyone.
I just realized its been forever since I posted; we have been a little preoccupied. We had our own little Easter miracle on the 5th of April. We were on our way home from Grand Island (after the spring snow storm) and teh roads appeared to be fine until we started to see cars in the ditch and one car was actually in the road covered with snow. I had to stop and go around. I had not even sped up yet when we hit a patch of fresh slush, we hydroplaned, went into oncoming traffic (missing an oncoming F-150 truck by like an inch) rolled and landed completely vertical in a ditch packed with fresh soft snow. Miraculously noone was hurt. Brooklyn slept through the whole thing. Carter and Hailee were terrified but unharmed. Jason stood on the sliding passenger door and opened the driver side sliding door to get the kids out (I was pinned and couldn't move). The driver of the truck we almost hit stopped and rushed to help. He was waiting by the door of the van so Jason started handing the kids to him. He gave them to another woman who stopped to help and put them in a nice warm vehicle (it was cold out that day and the kids had taken their shoes and coats off for the drive home). When Jason got Brooklyn out he looked out and he said there were probably 20 people helping. Only in Nebraska would this happen, it really is the Good Life. After Jason got the kids out he unbuckled my seat belt because I was stuck completely in the air so I swung my legs around to the window and pulled my self out and jumped down into fresh soft snow. I got a nasty bruise on my arm but all in all the bruise was no big deal. We even had a wonderful woman from Aurora bring us back to my mom and dad's house. Everything fit so perfectly in place for our miracle. I never drive if Jason is with me, I like to sit back and zone but for some reason I decided to drive. I would not have been tall enough to reach the drivers side sliding door from the passenger sliding door to get the children out like Jason did. We were complaing about a snowstorm in April but that snow saved our lives by stopping us from completely rolling and landing us in a pillow like fashion in fluffy white snow. One second slower or one second faster we would have hit on the passenger side right where my precious baby girl was sitting in her car seat. It was like He just took over the wheel and placed it where we needed to be, the whole thing was actually gentle considering what had happened. Everyone walked away safe and sound; our van on the other hand not so much and that is where the preoccupied comes from.
My parents let us use their vehicle (our vehicle had full coverage but it didn't cover a rental vehicle) the second day we had it it starts knocking at us and broke but my dad was able to fix it. The whole vehicle-insurance thing is nightmare, but life goes on (Thanks to God and his wonderful Grace).
We had a nice weekend. Jason had Friday off so we just bummed around the house. One of my girl friend's dad owns this amazing place called "the warehouse" and it is just an abandoned warehouse that he turned into a three story dream pad. It is such a fun place to hang out. We were invited to a birthday party there on Friday night, my parents came and stayed with the little ones. We had a really fun time. They have Boulevard Wheat on tap that you can just help yourself to all the time so Jason was in heaven. All my friends were there so I got to socialize which is always good. On Saturday I cleaned the house then we headed to my mom and dad's to celebrate Easter with them.. We had a good and relaxing time. The Easter bunny visited the kids in the morning and then we went to 10:30 service and all the kids were really well behaved. We went out for breakfast afterwards. We headed back home accident free around 6:30.
